However, SwiftKey is definitely more flexible when it comes to editing errors, which I think is just as important as guessing my textual intention. SwiftKey may improve with time, thanks to its language-learning powers. In the same test with Swype, gesture typing and thumb typing were tied for time and errors.Īfter using Swype and SwiftKey back to back, I feel that Swype is better at understanding my gestures and guessing my next words out of the box. Thumb typing took 3 minutes 20 seconds with only three errors. Gesture typing took about 4 minutes 16 seconds, with 15 errors. When testing SwiftKey, I timed myself both thumb-typing and gesture-typing random 80-word utterances using SwiftKey. Then again, it wasn't much easier with the enormous 6 Plus. As much as I like gesture typing, it's best used for dashing off short missives and not novel-length material.
